Monday Morning Scattershooting...

This past week was frigid weekend as a cold front came through....in APRIL! 😮  Our Saturday consisted of 4 softball games starting at 8am.  You would think that it would have been coldest that early in the morning....wrong....it just got colder throughout the day.  It was still cold in the morning, but the little Eagles did a great job.  Always a lot of fun watching them have fun playing out there.  Next up was Payton's games.  The wind and cold definitely had picked up and you were miserable if you left your cold weather gear at home.  Thankfully I ran back home to get some.  This was Payton's first time to take the mound pitching.  She was nervous at times and put a lot of expectation on herself as he didn't want to mess up, but of course we were super proud of her as she did great.  Our team is coming along as there are improvements to be had all over the field.  I know this team will grow as we continue through the season.  We had a great day of softball and were ready to get back to the house to warm up and watch the Masters and take naps!  Maddyson had a game on Sunday which was a fun game to watch.  The last time we played this other team, we lost 3-0 and they looked awful.  This Sunday we tied them 1-1.  The girls played so much better and Maddyson had some great saves.  Sunday afternoon you could probably guess what we did....yep....watched the end of the Masters.  It was a really fun Masters to watch as Reed was in the lead at the beginning of the day while Spieth made a huge charge after a disappointing Saturday.  The battle between Reed, Rory, Ricky, and Spieth made for a fantastic Sunday finish to see Reed win his first Green Jacket.

Oh....I almost forgot.  We got to see the baby on Friday.  We went and had a 4D scan done and it was so much fun to see her move all around catching her eyes opening and closing, her yawning and smirking, counting all her fingers and toes 😁.  We brought the girls and their cousin Kelly to enjoy the experience as it was so much fun because she just became more and more real as she keeps growing.  4D clip

Well, we haven't blogged in a very long time and we were looking back at past blog posts and really enjoyed reading what was going on at that time because life is busy and documenting these time to later reflect back offers a lot of perspective on what we all go through. The highs and lows of life are what help us grow as individuals. We learn so much and we shouldn't forget the experiences that helped form us. Hopefully we'll try to post more frequently so you can enjoy our life as much as we are :)

I'm not going to recap what has been going on since our last post because OH MY that would be a huge post.  Recently though, this is what has been going on in our life.

Brandon was laid off Jan 31 from Academy, but started back to work on March 19 with Capco, a previous consulting company he worked for before.  Since Ashlie is pregnant with our 4th child....i know, 😮we still can't believe it either, but we are so excited, this lay off was really enjoyable for the both of us.  We were blessed so much to spend some quality time with one another.  So many times we are so busy that its hard to find the time where it is just the both of us, so it really was an enjoyable time and loved it very much.

All kids are doing great in school with Maddyson (7th grade) Payton (3rd grade) and Harper (k).  Maddyson made district track meet for shot put.  She has done a tremendous job throwing shot this year and has come a long way from the beginning where she was throwing about 20ft to throwing 28ft.  School soccer has now started up and she is excited about playing with a lot of her friends at school.  Club soccer is still continuing as well.  Payton and Harper are playing softball and will have another Saturday full of games, 2 games each, this weekend.  It is really fun watching them play and grow in the sport.

We have been getting stuff around the house with some new bedroom furniture, a new sectional for the living room since the dogs chewed the couch a year ago when we were gone on a ski trip, 😡 ugh.  Then again we are preparing the baby's room too.  We have done a pretty accent wall with distressed wood and in the center we will have a wood monogrammed initials of her.  We are waiting on her furniture as well.  Ashlie is 29+ weeks, so not too much longer!!

Happy 4th Birthday!!

Well for the first time I decided to have someone else host Maddyson's party...well that was stupid! I am not the person to let anyone else take care of things, I like doing it. We invited a lot of people this time, Maddyson has friends her age now so it was a big turnout, but it was crazy...too many other people (not with our party). It was at Chuck E. Cheese. We didn't want her to open her presents there, she had a lot and I don't know I didn't want anyone to steal them...call me crazy. So no one got to see her open her presents. We did video tape her opening all of them and she loved everyone that she got. She was so excited...to everyone I am sorry you were not able to see her open them.

I can't believe it has been four years already. I still remember the day she was born. Maddyson has grown so fast and acts like a 5 or 6 year old. She is very smart and remembers EVERYTHING...even from a year ago. She blows our minds when she speaks. She has blossomed into a beautiful little girl and a GREAT big sister. Payton is very lucky to have such a caring big sis.

Trick or Treat - Fire Safety Town

We went trick or treating last night at the Fire Safety Town in Frisco with Brooke, Billy and Will. Maddyson and Will had a great time. Payton also enjoyed being eww'd and aww'd all over. We all had a great time and the little town is very neat. We ran into Leslie and Laney, my nurse and her daughter. Here are some pics from the fun night.

Longhorns!!

So here are the girls in their Longhorn supporting outfits from this past weekend. Ashlie and her side of the family are the burnt orange supporters while Brandon is left supporting the struggling Ags. Of course no matter what they wear, they are still adorable.

Weekend updates.

Things are going well. It is definitely an adjustment now having 2 little ones. Getting in a routine is the key though. Today will be the first day without the help of Brandon because he has gone back to work. At Payton's 2 week appt she is 7lbs 10oz, 21in long. She is doing great. We had a great weekend riding the 4 wheelers, cleaning out the garage, and just enjoying the awesome weather. Here are a few pics over the weekend.

Payton's first week!

1 week has gone by fast. We are enjoying her so much of course. Maddyson is crazy about her and always wants to be right up on her. She is great with her even though she doesn't realize how gentle she needs to be. We did have to go back to the hospital for a 24 hr period of time for payton to get a suntan :) Her bilirubin level rose from a 3.4 when we were discharged to a 17.8 at her first pedi appt. We were used to the lights cause with Maddyson's jaundice. We spent a week and a half in the hospital under the bili lights. Payton is doing great though. Being 3 weeks early, it takes them a little longer to process the bili, so they use the lights to help. She is eating every 2-3 hrs. At night sometimes we have to wake her to feed her. Hopefully when we want her to sleep through the night she will :). She will feed directly, but i've also been pumping because my you know whats have needed time to heal because she has totally made them raw. Also it has been nice because Brandon can get up with her and feed her since he has taken time off.
